Welcome to Mon Château Angers
Your address is 6 Boulevard du Général de Gaulle, 49100 Angers, opposite Angers Castle. This guide brings together public information to help you plan your stay. Personal entry instructions are sent directly by Cédric and are never published here.
Before arrival
Find travel advice in our practical information. Your booking confirmation and Cédric’s messages contain the check-in times and arrival arrangements that apply to your stay; use those details first.
From Angers Saint-Laud station, the route described in the booklet follows rue de la Gare, place de la Visitation and rue Hoche towards the statue of King René. Then head down boulevard du Roi René towards 6 Boulevard du Général de Gaulle. Check an up-to-date walking route before setting off, particularly if you have luggage.

Arriving by car
In his booklet, Cédric suggests dropping off your bags near the residence where parking and traffic rules allow, then moving your car so you can explore the centre on foot.
The locations suggested in the 2020 edition are the Théâtre du Quai car park, promenade de la Baumette and place La Rochefoucauld. Conditions may have changed: check signs, charges, opening hours and temporary restrictions on arrival. No parking space is reserved or guaranteed with the apartment.
Leaving your luggage somewhere
The apartment cannot hold your bags outside your check-in and check-out times. If you arrive before 3pm or leave after 11am, Nannybag offers several partner storage points in Angers, near the station and the city centre, from €2.50 per bag per day depending on size. Booking is online, with free cancellation.

Your apartment
The 35 m² apartment has a living room overlooking the castle, a quiet bedroom, an equipped kitchenette and a bathroom. It sleeps two, or up to four using the sofa bed. Bed linen and towels are provided; Wi-Fi and a washing machine are available.
For bicycles, a travel cot or pets, contact Cédric before your visit. See the FAQ for more details.
The story of your Angers retreat
Cédric bought the apartment in March 2020, during the first lockdown. He subsequently reworked it, paying particular attention to sound and thermal insulation, decoration and equipment. He continues to maintain and improve it regularly.
The booklet also tells the story of the “Le Château” residence, restored in the 1990s, and includes old postcards of the neighbourhood. They offer a glimpse of life along the quays long before your stay opposite the castle walls.
During your stay
Respect the quiet residential setting and your neighbours. Parties are not allowed and the apartment is non-smoking. Instructions for your stay are included in your host’s messages and the rental terms.
Wi-Fi connection details and personal entry instructions are sent directly to guests. If you have any difficulty on arrival, contact Cédric rather than relying on an old version of the booklet.
Cédric’s historic walking route
From the castle, head to the promenade du Bout du Monde, then Saint-Maurice Cathedral and the Maison d’Adam. Continue towards the Saint-Martin collegiate church and place du Ralliement, before crossing the Maine to explore the Doutre, Ronceray Abbey and the Jean-Lurçat Museum.
Finish at the quais des Carmes and cale de la Savatte, where Cédric suggests taking a break overlooking the boats. Adapt the loop to your pace and the opening times of the places you wish to visit.
Nature, cycling and day trips
- Lac de Maine: a green escape for walking, birdwatching and enjoying the waterside scenery.
- Étang Saint-Nicolas: one of Cédric’s suggestions for a woodland walk or run.
- Bouchemaine and Béhuard: two ideas for extending your stay along the Loire.
- Grez-Neuville, Le Thoureil and Saumur: further destinations suggested in the booklet for trips beyond Angers.
For bicycle hire, ask Cédric for a current recommendation. Check route conditions and the weather before setting off; the 2020 booklet is not an up-to-date navigation map.
Shopping and places to eat
For a leisurely browse, explore the streets around the Maison d’Adam, rue Toussaint and place du Ralliement. The booklet favours the smaller streets of the centre, with a food stop between discoveries.
Restaurants, shops and hire businesses can change: browse our local favourites and ask Cédric for his latest tips rather than relying on opening times or prices from the 2020 edition.
